Design Opportunity
Tombow is a Japanese stationary company that targets artistic audience and art professionals.
It is expanding its brand to the US.
Tombow does not have physical exclusive store in the US.
Our project goal is to tailor a service experience matches with the brand’s niche posotioning for the art and design community.
Solution
A personalized shop assistant chatbot for seamless experience at Tombow’s website.
Targeting the artists and designers group, help users get inspirations from just browing.
Customized art supply recommendations.
Finding Inspiration
Bow is not simply a purchasing and customer service chatbot. We wanted Bow to inspire the artists and users of Tombow.
Users can start from simply typing “Inspire me”,
and through telling Bow about how they identify themselves as artists, be it “I am a designer.” or “I am new to art.
Bow would be able to find art supplies with workshops and projects curated specifically for their profession and skill level.
Procress
Before diving into building the bot, we determined the major intents and not addressd user intents, to make sure we were optimizing the limited time to work on functions that best fits the chatbot format.
Prototype_mobile
Users would enter the chatbot from tapping the Bow icon
Full screen is for better readibility,
the minimize button would take users to the half screen for better comparison between products.
Prototype_website
Continued with the brand color for Chatbot Interface design.
Users are separated into first time users, returning users and users coming from another flow.
Users would be taken to different paths according to needs for a dynamic shopping experience.
Here is a demo video showing the VUI process for the user flows.
